Culture mesh

Posted by Paul Chislett on May 2, 2007

I came across this blogger today: thesunnah.wordpress.com and he is attempting to bridge the divide between cultures and is concerned with the filtered messages we receive in the media about Islamic culture and religion.

In the spirit of understanding – a job the mainstream media is failing in – we need to connect with those in other parts of the world. Those whose voices are marginalized in our PR dominated media. For if you pay attention to our news media, it is increasingly apparrent that what we are getting amount to nothing more than pretty press releases, short on insight, absent on context. The mainstream news is nothing but a sell job. This blogger is from the heart – this blogger is, therefore, just like you and me.
