Antarctic Ice and Rising Sea Levels

It’s not too long ago that the world first heard that huge ice sheets can move and slip toward the sea because water – lots of water – flows underneath. This article from Spaceflight Now tells how NASA satellites were used to measure the effects of sub-glacial lakes (one as large as Lake Ontario!). I guess if we wake up with Noah floating by, we’ll know (ah?) that the ice sheets have melted from the bottom and slipped into the ocean.
