New Strategy Needed in Afghanistan

Canadian troops are preparing for a “spring offensive” by Taliban forces and there have been calls in the past, including by Jack Layton, to include the Taliban in talks aimed at ending the fighting and start the actual re-building of Afghanistan. Re-building that was promised by the world after the American invasion, in response to 9/11.

It’s beginning to look as though Canadian troops are just helping the Americans continue their illegal war in Iraq, by keeping the pressure on the Taliban in Afghanistan.

  2. One way to end the war in Afghanistan would be to actually fight it instead of saving Osama for a rainy day post-Tora Borah as a means of regathering support for the War on Freedom (err…Terror)
